There's a new EdCol about logos on equipment, uniforms and apparel. I think the part about logos of non-profit organizations is new.

In summary:
• The five sand volleyball proposals (2009-19-A, 2009-19-B, 2009-39, 2009-70, 2009-83) all were sent out for comment (wisely so) prior to the outcome of the override vote was known.
• Of the four proposals from the Basketball Focus Group, one was adopted (2009-99), the remainder (2009-100, 2009-101, 2009-102) were sent out for comment. The Basketball Academic Enhancement Group had three proposals in the hopper; one was adopted (2009-96), the other two (2009-97, 2009-98) are in the comment/amendment phase.
• There are myriad changes coming to football pertaining to the number of incoming freshman prospects who can be signed to NLIs (2009-48), evaluation rules and the recruiting calendar (2009-16-B, 2009-27, 2009-38, and 2009-57), head-coaches-in-waiting (2009-31), the summer conditioning period (2009-81), competition against prospects (2009-49), graduate assistant coach enrollment requirements (2009-11), and camp/clinic employment (2009-52 and 2009-54-A). And 2009-35, 2009-47-A, 2009-47-B, and 2009-103 are in the comment phase.
• Some amendments were made at the Legislative Council meeting, mostly having to do with effective dates.
There's an NCAA News story with more details. The Legislative Council report is also available. Be sure to get Attachments A and B as well; that's where the beef is.
A letter of intent period is coming. You can pick up a dead period reminder for:
• Football
• Soccer, men’s water polo, cross country, track & field, and field hockey
The NCAA News has a brief item about this week's Board of Directors meeting. The implementation of sand volleyball, which escaped the override hammer the day before, will be delayed until August 1, 2011.
In case you missed the tweets, the overrides of both Proposals 2008-59 (which adds sand volleyball as emerging sport) and 2008-46 (which lengthens baseball season by one week) failed at the Division I Business Session at the NCAA Convention yesterday.
The NCAA News has a story about today's Legislative Council meeting, noting a handful of proposals that were adopted, defeated, or sent out for comment. It's unclear from the story whether or not the Council finished its business today or will continue to meet tomorrow.
